Sports massage uses a combination of deeper muscle tissue manipulation, cross fiber friction to disrupt adhesions and scar tissue within the muscle itself as well as the tendinous junctions, and active and passive stretches for increased flexibility and longer resting length. These manipulations can increase function and range of motion, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injury.

Becky Taccetta is a native central Texan who grew up near Kerrville but has lived in the Austin area for the last 24 years. She has spent almost all of that time working in the medical field, focusing mainly on veterinary surgery or in human orthopedics. Working in the physically demanding field of veterinary medicine, she found regular massage very beneficial in preventing injury or relieving minor muscle aches and pains. Bodywork became a strong interest a couple of years ago, and after a little encouragement from friends and family, she decided to go to massage school. She is constantly honing my skills in bodywork with high focus on myofascial release, sports massage, and client education to the benefits of massage for a healthy lifestyle.
